The Elmira Soldier's Aid Society is an authenticity oriented group of Civil War era civilian living historians who portray common citizens of the day. Accuracy in both material culture and the development of first person impressions are key components of our mission to accurately interpret historical events. The Elmira Soldiers' Aid Society currently has members in New York and Pennsylvania. The Elmira Soldiers' Aid Society also forms a contingent of the newly formed Citizens of Liberty, comprising of the Hardtack Society and other independents.
